Between the friend you invite on vacation who turns out to be rude, the friend you lend your couch to as a last resort and who stays longer than expected, or those you invite to a restaurant who order the entire menu without batting an eyelid... Sometimes, we regret our generosity. This week, Libé tells you stories where our witnesses really said to themselves: "you shouldn't have invited him." Today, Théo (1), a Parisian developer, recalls how an old friend he was hosting made his life hell.
"When I finished my studies, I didn't really know what I was going to do. I had a long-time friend, much older than me, who gave me assignments and well-paid jobs through his company. Since then, I've felt indebted. Whenever I can, when he comes to Paris, I host him for free, to do him a favor in return.
"The guy is a bit of a hippie, he's in his fifties, he has absolutely no idea what social codes are.
